my green thumbed friends

my latest bounty from all my veggie growing friends, co workers, and fellow church goers includes, green beans, corn, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and last but not least, a watermelon (thanks MG).

you better believe my chest freezer is going to be packed to the gill with veggies for winter. i told mom that i felt like the ant in the fable about the ant and the grasshopper.

my revelation

well friends, revelation doesnt always come in a vivid dream, this morning while loading laundry into the dryer i heard this coming out of Jr. Asparagus (veggie tales for those of you who are not "in the know")

the Lord has given good things to us
no need to fuss
he knows what hes doing
he says he'll always take care of us
if we will follow him.

so there you have it. words of wisdom from one of my top five favorite vegetables.

my fine line

ok, you all see my verse on the top right "make me neither rich nor poor but give me what i need for today"
this being not only a plea to God for what i need but also saying dont give me what i dont need. im having a problem  with that fine line between faith that i will have what i need and wanting  to be prepared to do the things that are right for practising christians to do (ie help the poor, pay all my bills on time, etc..) therefore wanting a surplus (which is quickly becoming a nonissue due to inflation and change in circumstances) .

is this making any sense? i need wisdom on financial matters here friends, please, pray for me.
and if you want to see what else God is doing in our lives visit kens blog, focus on the word.

chelsea and justin take on uncle richard and bubby in a game of cornhole
mimi and papa cut their birthday cake, he's 81, she's 29
"boy, stop swingin' that stick at people" no hillbilly party is complete without a trip to the hospital, lucky for us no modern hillbilly family is complete without a first responder and volunteer fire fighter.
it was a gorgeous day today out at versailles state park where aunt mae organized a barbecue picnic for mimi and papas birthdays, the menu included chicken, cheeseburgers and plenty of sweet tea. i will give you 3 guesses what i took (rhymes with zuchini bread) and aunt mae and aunt amy were wrestling over it when we left. well that may be an exaggeration but harsh words were exchanged and one told the other that i was a terrible cook in a bid to have the whole loaf to herself. ok that may also be a lie but they were both anxious to rip open that glad wrap and dig in. and thats the truth.

my paint job

my saturday was spent finishing my bathroom mini makeover. it was nothing as spectacular as the bathroom liz showed us last week, (not hers, her dream bathroom) but im happy. it all revolved around matching things up with my free shower curtain (thanks to my mom-in-law) so a splash or two of paint and some new glass things on the light fixture and now i wont be embarrassed at the boys b-day party  when im pretty sure at least one person will want to use the potty.

oh and i really would love some help with the mini (only 3 kids are invited) party we are throwing for the 3rd bday, its a pirate theme so tell me all your cheap  party throwing tips.
